Who this policy is about

Comfort Foods (comfortfoods.in) is operated by MECA Engineering Solutions (OPC) Private Limited, a company registered in Bengaluru, India (“we”, “us”, “the Data Fiduciary”). This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and what rights you have over it, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

Comfort Foods is currently a pre-launch waitlist. We are not yet taking orders or payments. This policy covers the waitlist website only.

This service is for adults (18+)

Comfort Foods is intended for use by individuals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, please contact the Grievance Officer below and we will delete it.

What we collect

Information you give us directly, through the waitlist form:

• Name
• Mobile number
• City (and, if you tell us, your specific area/locality)
• Food preference, diet, and meal preferences you select
• Who you’re ordering for (yourself, flatmates, family, parents)

Information collected automatically:

• Attribution and click identifiers — UTM parameters (source, medium, campaign, term, content), and ad-click identifiers such as gclid, gbraid, wbraid, and fbclid, when you arrive via an ad
• Page and referrer information — the page you landed on, the page you submitted the form from, and the site that referred you
• Cookies and similar technologies set by:
  • Google Analytics (usage and traffic measurement)
  • Google Ads (ad performance measurement)
  • Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API (ad performance measurement on Meta platforms)

We do not collect payment information, government ID numbers, or precise location data through this site.

Why we collect it

We use this information to:

1. Contact you about Comfort Foods’ launch and subscription plans, by phone or WhatsApp, once you’ve joined the waitlist
2. Understand which of our ads and pages are working, so we spend our (early-stage, limited) marketing budget sensibly
3. Match a waitlist signup back to the ad or campaign that brought you here, so we can measure that campaign’s performance
4. Operate and improve this website

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for any purpose other than the ones listed above.

Your consent

By submitting the waitlist form, you consent to us contacting you by phone or WhatsApp about Comfort Foods, and to the processing described in this policy. Checking the consent box on the form is how you give this consent — the form will not submit without it.

You can withdraw consent at any time. To withdraw consent and ask us to stop contacting you, email the Grievance Officer below or reply “STOP” to any WhatsApp message from us. We will act on a withdrawal request without unreasonable delay. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything we did with your data before you withdrew it.

How long we keep it

We retain waitlist data until Comfort Foods launches plus 12 months, or until you withdraw consent — whichever happens first. After that, we delete or anonymise it, except where we’re required to keep something longer for legal or accounting reasons.

Who we share it with

We use the following processors to run this website and our advertising. Each of them processes data on our behalf, under their own privacy and security terms:

We do not share your data with any other third party, and we do not permit these processors to use your data for their own independent purposes.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access — ask us what personal data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data (subject to the retention needs above)
• Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below), and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved
• Nominate — nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business moves from waitlist to launch. We’ll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
